Privacy Policy
Last updated: 12 October 2026. This page explains, in plain terms, what happens to your files and data when you use BuzzKit.
The short version
Every conversion, compression, trim, and merge on this site happens locally, inside your browser tab. Your videos, images, audio, and PDFs are never uploaded to a BuzzKit server, because no server is involved in processing them at all.
What actually happens when you use a tool
When you drop a file into a tool, your browser reads it directly using standard web APIs — the Canvas API for images, WebAssembly (via ffmpeg.wasm) for video and audio, and JavaScript PDF libraries (pdf-lib and pdf.js) for documents. Processing happens in memory in your tab. When you click download, the result is generated locally and handed to your browser's own download mechanism. At no point does the file itself travel over the network to us.
Third-party libraries loaded from a CDN
Some tools (video, audio, and PDF tools specifically) load an open-source library from a public content delivery network (unpkg.com, or cdnjs.cloudflare.com for the GIF Maker) the first time you use them — for example, ffmpeg.wasm or pdf.js. This is a one-time script download, and it is not small: the ffmpeg.wasm engine used by the video and audio tools is roughly 25MB. It does not transmit your files. Your browser typically caches these scripts so they don't need to be re-downloaded on your next visit.
What we do collect
BuzzKit uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used. It records standard technical and usage information, such as the pages you visit, your approximate location derived from your IP address, your device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site, and it sets cookies to tell separate visits apart. This is aggregate data used for basic usage statistics and for deciding which tools to improve. It is unrelated to the contents of any file you process with a tool. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs for security purposes.
When you tell us a tool was helpful (or not), only an anonymous up or down count is stored. No IP address, cookie, or other identifier is saved with that vote.
Cookies and local storage
BuzzKit stores a few things in your own browser, on your own device:
- your dark/light theme preference;
- a note that you have already voted on a tool, so we do not ask again;
- in the video converter, the file you last selected and your chosen options, saved in your browser's IndexedDB storage for up to 24 hours so you can resume after an accidental refresh;
- cached copies of pages and scripts, kept by a service worker so tools load faster and can work offline.
None of this is sent to us, and you can clear it at any time from your browser's site-data settings. Google Analytics and our advertising partners set their own cookies, as described in this policy.
Advertising and third-party cookies
BuzzKit displays advertising served by third-party vendors, including Google AdSense, whose script loads on every page of the site. Google and other advertising partners may use cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other sites on the internet. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this site and/or other sites. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. You can also review how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. These advertising cookies are separate from, and unrelated to, the local browser processing described above — they do not have access to the files you convert or edit with any tool on this site.
Visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland. For visitors in these regions, we set Google's consent settings so that analytics and advertising storage is denied by default, and cookies for those purposes are only used once consent has been given through a consent message. You can withdraw consent at any time through that message, or by clearing the cookies for this site in your browser.
More ways to control advertising. You can also opt out of interest-based advertising from many companies at optout.aboutads.info (United States) or youronlinechoices.com (Europe). Opting out does not remove ads; it means the ads you see are less relevant to you.
Children's privacy
This site is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the "last updated" date at the top of this page will change accordingly. Significant changes will be noted here.
